In Sanskrit numerology, the number 108 has a universal vibration and deep spiritual significance as it corresponds to the sacred geometric laws of creation and sustenance. The Indian Subcontinent rosary has a set of 108 mantra counts. Since ancient times 108 has been a sacred geometric number to the Indian as well as many other spiritual belief systems. The Indians were excellent mathematicians and 108 was thought to have special numerological signif icance. Also the Sanskrit alphabet has 54 letters, each with a masculine and feminine aspect—Shiva and Shakti. (54 times 2 is 108). Saying a set of mantras 108 times creates vibration.
